Focus rules
Create a repeating app-blocking schedule.
Focus rules
Rules help you block selected apps at regular times.
Create a rule
- Open Rules from Home.
- Tap Add rule or choose a template.
- Select the apps to block.
- Choose the days and start and end times.
- Save the rule and make sure its switch is on.
Turn the schedule off inside the editor if you want the rule to stay active all the time.
Templates
Templates give you a quick starting point for deep work, afternoons, evenings, sleep, or weekends. You can change the apps, days, and times before saving.
Platform support
- iPhone: Scheduled rules can block apps after Screen Time access is approved. Open Milo The Pup so the app can apply the current schedule. Rules are reviewed on launch, when the app returns to the front, and while you keep it open. For the most reliable schedule changes, open Milo The Pup when a rule should start or stop.
- Android: You can create and save rules, but automatic scheduled blocking is not available yet. App blocking during a focus session does work.
Manage a rule
- Use the switch to turn a rule on or off.
- Tap a rule to edit it.
- Delete rules you no longer need.
If an older rule cannot be edited, delete it and create a new scheduled rule.
Rule not blocking on iPhone?
- Confirm the rule is switched on.
- Check the selected days and times.
- Confirm Screen Time access in Milo The Pup Settings.
- Reopen Milo The Pup after changing permissions.
